Celebrating the resilience and continuous pursuit of excellence, on the final day of its 56th founding anniversary, Philippine Normal University Visayas kicked off with a bunch of activities that marked the milestone that the institution has achieved on July 17, 2024.

Opportunities were within reach as the university’s Counseling and Career Office Student Affairs and Services Unit Peer Facilitators’ Organization and Public Employment Service Office joined forces in arranging job prospects for the 4th year graduating students and welcoming them to the 4th PNUV Career Fair in the morning on July 17, 2024, at Balay Cadiznon, PNU Visayas, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

Enticing the 4th year to consider the event as a treasure hunt where treasures are invaluable insights, guides, and opportunities that the esteemed visitors have brought, Dr. Ralger D. Jocson Jr., Executive Director and Provost, stated his opening remarks, “Each conversation that you will have today is a seed planted in [the] fertile soil of your admissions, ready to grow into a career that not only fulfills you but also contributes meaningfully to the society that you are part of.”

It was followed by the introduction of participating companies, schools, and agencies and awarding of certificates of participation with the initiation of Dr. Noel S. Maraรฑon, RGC, RPm, Coordinator, Student Welfare Services. Panasiatic Solutions, SSS, NWTF, Amaia Land Corporation, Concentrix, Forest Lake, Philippine Army, Teleperformance, BJMP, Global Strategic, PESO Cadiz, and RMA Manpower were on the list of confirmed companies that participated in the PNUV Career Fair 2024.Dr. Richelle A. Delmo, Head of Student Affairs and Services Unit (SASU), announced the declaration of Career Fair 2024 as officially open to allow job seekers to have an up-close look at the various career paths they can take. It was followed by the closing remarks of Dr. Ma. Wenna B. Fernandez, Dean for Academics and the Hub, said, “To our job seekers, our graduates, you are indeed very fortunate. Right now, the job is looking for you,” reminding them to do the task, mindful of the core values of the university, which are truth, excellence, and service. Aiming to acquire a job after graduating, the graduates roam around and check each agency to inquire and undergo job interviews.

In the afternoon segment, PNUV’s faculty and staff took a breather as they indulged themselves in bowling at Lopuez East, Bacolod City. A chance to recognize and reward the utmost and unwavering efforts rendered by the on-the-go individuals behind the university’s triumphs.The much-awaited event commenced in the evening as the highlight of PNUV’s founding anniversary, Mr. and Ms. PNUV 2024. The candidates flashed their enchanting smiles as they ramped the stage, oozing with confidence.While the candidates were preparing for the next segment, participants who aced the academic competitions with their fervent dedication and raffle ticket winners were awarded.

In the distinguished group of judges for Mr. and Ms. PNUV 2024, a stellar list of professionals from different fields was introduced, namely Jim Ian Ortega Arisgado, Mr. RASUC-VI 2024; Mariah Sariah Geronga, Brgy. Kagawad/Dinagsa Queen 2017; Joseph Neil Dugayo, Court Decongestion Officer; Claire Consing, Entrepreneur; Reynaldo Delcoro, SK Chairperson/Mr. Grand City of Smiles 2023; and Rochelle Cabanyog, Sinigayan Queen 2024.

Kyle Johann Cuberos from the First Year Council and Lenyl Marfa from the Fourth Year Council emerged victorious as they were crowned Mr. and Ms. PNUV 2024, respectively. Daniella Razonable (female category) and Prince Laurence Bragais (male category) from the First Year Council were hailed as the 1st runner-up. For the 2nd runner-up, Noviene Pearl Aguiero (female category) from the First Year Council and Jerick Mercurio (male category) from the Fourth Year Council bagged the award. On the other hand, Rona Sardemio (female category) from the Third Year Council and Richzen Gabriel Gumban from the Second Year Council (male category) won as the 3rd runner-up. Jezza Acumabig (female category) from the Second Year Council and Lloyd Pantanosas (male category) from the Third Year Council got 4th runner-up.

A dashing way to end PNUVโ€™s 56th Founding Anniversary, where the intelligence and creativity of PNUans were showcased in various activities while they embodied excellence, which is one of the core values that the university upholds.
