Philippine Normal University Visayas received the Excellence in Quality Assurance in Teacher Education (EQUATE) Award from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on April 2, 2025, at The Manila Hotel, in recognition of its outstanding contributions to teacher education.

PNU Visayas together with the other 4 campuses of PNU namely, PNU Manila, PNU North Luzon, PNU South Luzon, and PNU Mindanao, received the award highlighting the university’s commitment to high-quality teacher education through a thorough program accreditation, quality assurance standards and the outstanding performance in the Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT). The campus earned distinctions both in elementary and secondary levels, proving its reputation as a leading institution for pre-service teacher education.

Dr. Ralger Jocson Jr., Executive Director and Provost, alongside Dr. Gliceria Arlyn Garancho, Dean for Academics and the Hub, received the award, together with PNU President Dr. Bert J. Tuga and other campus officials who were also present at the ceremony.

The EQUATE Awards emphasizes the university’s performance in accreditation, curriculum quality, and BLEPT results, solidifying its role as the pillar of teacher education excellence.
